At Gentle Dentistry, we practice universal precautions.  These are safety procedures established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Dental Association. They are used for every patient to prevent the transmission of viruses and other infectious diseases. Our staff wears appropriate protective clothing such as disposable lab coats, gloves, masks and eyewear.

All of our dental instruments are cleaned and sterilized at very high temperatures after each time they are used on a patient.  We have three autoclave units (steam under pressure) in our sterilization room.  If you would like to see how and where it is done, just ask a staff member to show you. 

Before you enter an exam room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light and counter tops have been cleaned and decontaminated.  You will even see protective covers on equipment that are replaced after each patient.  At Gentle Dentistry, patient and staff safety are of utmost importance.
